More cards!

I have a few more cards to share and hope to have even more after this weekend, so don’t forget to check back!!!

Here’s a card I cased from RaeBobcat on SCS:

Heartfelt Thanks pumpkin pie

Stamps: Heartfelt Thanks, Print Pattern
Paper: Whisper White, Always Artichoke, Pumpkin pie
Ink: Always Artichoke, Pumpkin Pie
Accessories: Ribbon

This one was cased from cischroed on SCS:

Palette O’Prints card

Stamps: Simply Said
Paper: Palette O’Prints dsp, Whisper White, Basic Black
Ink: Rose Red, Basic Black
Misc: black grosgrain ribbon, Signo white gel pen

I used the Signo gel pen (which is THE best gel pen I’ve ever had the pleasure of using) to make the centers of the flowers on the Palette O’ Prints paper stand out a little more.

Back in the saddle….er, craft room, again!!!

It has been hard getting used to my husband’s post-surgery life. He is moving around really well on his crutches (sometimes, too well) and we are now under three weeks before he can walk on his foot again. I don’t think I can even begin to explain how happy I’ll be when that happens! In other news, I got to play in my craft room this weekend! Woo hoo!!! I made 4 new cards, as I’m trying to put together a book of card designs to show at workshops and such. I am only going to share 2 tonight and will share the other 2 tomorrow night. Gotta keep something in reserve 🙂 Here are the 2 birthday cards I have to share:

Eat Cake

Stamps: Eat Cake
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Tempting Turquoise, Certainly Celery, Whisper White
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Tempting Turquoise, Certainly Celery, Whisper White Craft
Accessories: Signo Gel Pen, Mat Pack, paper piercer, Round Tab punch, Ticket Corner punch

And the other card:

Eric’s Bday Card

Stamps: All Wrapped Up, All Wrapped Up Accessories, Simple Sayings II
Paper: Yo-Yo Yellow, Whisper White, Only Orange
Ink: Black Stazon, Green Galore, Yo-Yo-Yellow, Only Orange
Accessories: Ticket Corner punch, acetate, orange grosgrain ribbon, Stickles

I’ve got my hands full!

I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted, but things are a little crazy here in the Kersteter household. My husband had surgery on his foot yesterday, so I was at the hospital all day. And now I’ve got a gimped up husband and two children to care for all by my lonesome. I don’t know how single parents do it. I am already tired and it’s not even been 24 hours!!! The surgery was successful, but my husband will be on crutches for a month. He is not to put any weight on his bad leg. He’s on painkillers and seems to be doing pretty well. He is seriously not trying to be a burden, but there’s really nothing he can do to help me with the kids or around the house (not that I would ask him to if he could). I am listening to him snore on the couch while he’s taking a nap. Man, there’s nothing I’d like more right now than a nap. Ok, maybe a nanny, a personal chef, and a maid. That would be nice, too. I don’t have any new projects or cards to share, but at least wanted to let you all know we’re still alive over here. I am making it a goal to spend some time in my craft room after the kids go to bed tonight. I need to get going on my card samples for my SU! book for customers to look through. A little stamping might help me relax a little, too. I’ll hopefully be back tomorrow with a card or two! Here’s a picture from Mother’s Day that my husband took. I am never in pictures and really wanted some with my kids:

And here’s a quick pic I took of Maddie this week. She’s got this devilish little grin…. makes me wonder what she’s up to!

Cork/Memo Board

I created this board as a hostess gift for my friend Shannon, who was kind enough to host my very first Stampin’ Up workshop. It wasn’t really a “typical” workshop (is there such a thing?), because everyone had been to a Stampin’ Up party/workshop before and already knew the basics. Plus, they were all seasoned stampers. So that made my job a whole lot easier and I was grateful for the “easy” first workshop. Here’s the board:

Hostess gift for Shannon

Stamps: Office Accoutrement
Ink: Certainly Celery
Paper: Certainly Celery, Notations Designer Series paper
Other: Making Memories bullnose clips, ginormous paper clips, push pins, magnetic strips

I mounted the Notations paper on an actual 11×11 piece of wood, then cut the corkboard to fit (I used a kraft knife for the first time and didn’t shed any blood). I peeled the magnetic strips off the back of some magnetic shopping list things I picked up at the Target $1 back in February. I have stainless steel appliances, so I can’t use magnets any way. The paper clips are super easy to do, too. Hope you (and Shannon) like it! I’m thinking I’ll need to make one for myself!

Craft Critique’s Altered Items Carnival

I know it’s unusual for me to post twice in one day, but I just *had* to! I received a nice surprise today and wanted to let everyone know. One of my altered tins is featured on Craft Critique’s Altered Items Carnival! I was so surprised to see it there and then I received a comment on that post from Sarah Moore herself! Yay! I think the ladies over at Craft Critique are doing wonderful things, so please take a moment to go check them out. There are a bunch of awesome altered item projects over there featured for their latest carnival. You can see it all here. I am seriously not worthy to have my work featured alongside the likes of Ms. Julie Ebersole (JulieHRR on SCS)!!! Go take a look….

Happy May (several days late)!!!

I know I said I’d be back with some cards on Monday night. Well, obviously that didn’t happen. So here we are on Thursday. And yes, I have cards!! I have the 2 card designs I created for our monthly card club exchange (one was to be a spring card and one was to be a birthday card). I also have a 2 page layout from the circle journal I am doing with the ladies I attended CKU with. Just so I can thoroughly out myself, I will tell you that we attended CKU-Minneapolis. Yes, that’s right. It was almost 2 YEARS AGO that we started the circle journals. Is that not one of the most pathetic things you’ve ever heard? Fortunately, we all know and trust each other, so we weren’t worried about not getting our journals back. We’ve tried to get together for the final exchange a few times, but something always came up. So, this is it. We are finally exchanging this Sunday. And I still don’t have two of them done. I mean, I don’t actually have the journals themselves, but I do have the info I need to complete them. I just finished this one for my friend Maribeth’s journal. We needed to name a favorite book, song, and movie. So here’s mine:

Maribeth’s circle journal pages

I used the following supplies:

Stamps: Office Accoutrement set
Ink: Certainly Celery
Paper: Notations Designer Series paper, Certainly Celery, So Saffron
Other: Round Tab Punch, Spiral Punch

I also have the following cards to post:
April ‘07 Card Club Spring card

Stamps: Looks Like Spring, Wonderful Words
Ink: Mellow Moss, Pretty in Pink
Paper: Whisper White, Mellow Moss, Pretty in Pink
Other: White ribbon (non-SU), pink organdy ribbon (SU)

And the birthday card:
May Card Club ‘07 Bday card

Stamps: Eat Cake
Ink: Morning Marigold, Cool Caribbean, Cranberry Crisp
Paper: Morning Marigold, Cool Caribbean, Cranberry Crisp
Other: Marvy Giga Scalloped Circle Punch, Marvy Mega Circle Punch, On the Dot Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, Uniball Signo White Gel Pen

The last thing I have to share is something I whipped up to give out to my customers who sign up for my Stampin’ Up hostess club starting up in August. I didn’t take pics of the individual pieces before I put them together, but there’s an RSVP pen with the Dots-and-Dashes Designer Series paper, a jumbo paper clip that I adhered some chipboard to. I also covered that with the Dots-and-Dashes paper and used the “Daily Notes” stamp from Office Accountrement on it. The last thing I did was add a jumbo incentive stamp from SU! I put these items in those little metal buckets I picked up at Target and then put them in a big cello bag. I added some ribbon…. and voila!
Hostess Club Gift ‘07

I’ve got to prep for my first Stampin’ Up event on Saturday and my first Stampin’ Up party (as a demonstrator) on Sunday. Take care!
