I’m free, I’m free…… well, sort of!

I turned in my final for my cataloging class today. It feels good to have this class behind me and the whole summer off. I have some cards I’m working on and will be posting them tomorrow, but for now I’ve been tagged by Melissa at Melissa’s Musings. I’m supposed to disclose 7 things most people don’t know about me. This may be challenging (or boring), but here it goes:

1. I got locked in a bathroom on an Amtrack train when I was 13. The bathrooms were down by the engine and no one could hear me banging on the door for help. Fortunately, my mom sent my little sister down to check on me and was able to get someone to help me. I kept thinking the whole time that I would never ride on a train again…. and I haven’t.

2. I won a trip to Mazatlan, Mexico from a local radio station back in the early ’90’s. I think I have the tape of me on the radio in some random box down in my basement. It was a fun trip and I feel very lucky to have won.

3. When I was 14 I got hit in the mouth with the ball while playing softball. I had braces at the time. The skin from the inside of my mouth stuck to the braces and I had to swish it out with water. It hurt. A lot. But I kept playing.

4. I think we covered this one, but my husband feels it bears repeating. I have a huge crush on Joe Mauer from the Minnesota Twins. Our friend Shannon even sent my husband a pair of Joe Mauer sideburns as a gag gift for his birthday. He has yet to wear them ūüėÄ

5. I don’t like handling raw meat, especially beef. I couldn’t do it at all when I was pregnant with both kids.

6. I have never had a broken bone.

7. I’m going to be driving a minivan later this year and I’m so *not* a minivan kind of girl. I’m still trying to come to terms with this. I’ll just pretend it’s an oversized corvette.

Thanks for tagging me, Melissa!

I will be back tomorrow sometime to post the cards I’ve been working on. I ordered a few more Bella stamps and will be playing with them this week. I particularly like the PMSabella. You’ve gotta check her out!

Oh, I forgot that I’m supposed to tag some more people. I will tag Shannon and Tracy (and you actually have to do it this time, Tracy!!!).

Later!

My new Blog Banner!!!

I am beyond excited about this *fabulous* new blog banner designed by the very talented (and also very nice) Melissa Kulesa!! I was a second-chance winner of her blog banner giveaway. She custom made my awesome banner for me and was so incredibly helpful, patient, and professional. You can check out her design work blog at Kulesa Design and her other blog Stamping Through the Tulips. If you are looking for someone to custom create a banner or a watermark, then Melissa is your woman! I just can’t say enough about how pleased I am with not just the final product, but also the design process. She was so fun to work with! Thanks, again, Melissa!!! I will be adding both of her blogs to my blogroll. Please leave a comment and let me know what you think of the new banner!!!

It’s been awhile!

I assure you that I:

1. have not dropped off the face of the earth.
2. have not abandoned my husband and children to run off with Prince William (now that he’s
on the market again).
3. have been very busy!

I am almost finished with my cataloging class (woo hoo!) and spent the past week working on my final paper. I only have to complete the final exam (it’s a take home exam) that my professor will be handing out on Sunday and I’ll be D-O-N-E!!!! I’m just a little excited!!! As is evidenced by my excessive use of the exclamation point!!! Since I’m done with my paper and I have no reading assignment for class this Sunday (did I mention it’s my last class?), I played up in my craft room last night. Here’s what I came up with. The first card was cased from lizziebee1989 on Splitcoast Stampers!

Office Accoutrement BDay card

Stamps: Office Accoutrement, Polka Dots & Petals
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery, Marigold Morning, Bashful Blue
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery, Marigold Morning, Bashful Blue, Whisper White
Other: Round tab punch, paper piercer, mat pack, and Signo white gel pen

And the other:

Tags So Much Thank You card

Stamps: Doodle This, Tags So Much
Ink: Almost Amethyst, Craft White
Paper: Almost Amethyst, Mellow Moss, Whisper White
Other: Mega Circle Punch, Mega Scalloped Circle Punch, Signo white gel pen

As always, feel free to email me or leave a comment! I’d love to hear from you and hear more about what you’d like to see on my blog. The weather has been glorious here in Minnesota the past two days and we are soaking it in. I love spring!

My new watermark!

I got my new watermark from Mama Dini last night and have been playing around with my Photoshop Elements 3 to try to get it to work. After much frustration (I am not a patient person), I was able to get it to work on this card:

cosmobella watermark test

If you are interested in getting a watermark for yourself, I strongly encourage you to visit her website here and have her make one for you. She is very easy to work with and does great work!

Check this out!

I know that I’ve talked about some of the products I love to use in my posts and I hope people find that at least a little bit useful. I just bought one of the cutest little tools for the avid stamper. It is called the PunchPal and can be seen at Cat’s Creative Spot. I have to say, as a Stampin’ Up demonstrator, that this will be an invaluable tool for me to show my customers which stamps fit in which punches. This is such a brilliant idea! I know I could have punched my own template out of cardboard like I’ve seen done, but this is so much better than that. The paper is stamped with background stamps or wheels on SU! colored cardstock, and then heat laminated! It is so professional looking and I’ve already used several times in the three days I’ve had it! I am not affiliated with the product or the person who created the product. I will say that she has excellent customer service, though. I had very professional and friendly communication from her and she shipped my PunchPal the day I paid for it! I do know she was offering a reduced price for SCS members. I urge you to at least click on the link and check it out. Cathy did tell me that she will be offering updates when Stampin’ Up comes out with new punches. And if you do go visit, please tell her I sent you! Enjoy!!!

And the winner is……..

Melissa Norris!!!! Congratulations, Melissa! Please email me with your snail mail address and I will get the package ready. I will also be placing my Stampingbella order this week and will be ordering Grumpabella to add to your package. For those interested, I used a random number generator from http://www.random.org to come up with the number and the winner was #3. The 3rd person to leave a comment was Melissa. Congrats, again, and thank you everyone for playing. You never know when I’ll be offering more blog confections, so keep reading and checking in on me! Hope everyone has a Happy Easter!

Easter cards anyone?

I had to do my own version of SCS’s Limited Supply Challenge. You see, I have limited supply of Easter themed stamps. I actually only have the Bunny tag from Tags So Much and the “Happy Easter” saying from All Year Cheer I. Here’s what I came up:

Grace‚Äôs Easter card¬†‚Äė07

Stamps: All Year Cheer I, Tags So Much
Paper: Pixie Pink, Yo-Yo Yellow, Whisper White
Ink: Pixie Pink, Yo-Yo Yellow, Gable Green
Other: Uniball Signo Gel pen, ribbon (Doodlebug), jelly (Doodlebug), Marvy Giga circle scalloped punch, Marvy Giga circle punch

Lily‚Äôs Easter card¬†‚Äė07

Stamps: Tags So Much, Dotted bg stamp
Paper: Tempting Turquoise, Pixie Pink, Yo-Yo Yellow, Gable Green, Whisper White
Ink: Tempting Turquoise, Pixie Pink, Yo-Yo Yellow, Gable Green
Other: Tag punches, ribbon, dimensionals

Amy & Travis‚Äô Easter card¬†‚Äė07

Stamps: Terrific Tulips, Simple Sayings
Paper: Perfect Plum, Pale Plum, Mellow Moss, Whisper White
Ink: Perfect Plum, Pale Plum, Mellow Moss
Other: organdy ribbon (non-SU)

Mom & Dad‚Äôs Easter card¬†‚Äė07

Stamps: Terrific Tulips, Simple Sayings
Paper: Always Artichoke, So Saffron, Whisper White
Ink: Always Artichoke, Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron
Other: ribbon (both non-SU)

I just realized that the tags on the Dotted card are a little off. I’ll just trim a little off the edge, since I used the dimensionals and can’t really take them off. I can’t understand why Stampin’ Up retired the Terrific Tulips set. It makes such pretty cards! I know I cheated by making the same card in different colors, but what’s a girl to do? I need to get my hands on that Bunny Hugs stamp set! Remember to get add your comment to the Blog Confections post for a chance win some goodies. I’ll be drawing Saturday morning!
